For venue owners

Frequently Asked Questions

What is NightX?

NightX is the operating system for a nightlife venue: one app your whole staff shares to run the night. The guest list and check-in at the door, a live floor plan of your tables, service requests from each table, and analytics on how the night went all live in one place, and every phone updates as things happen.

Who is it for?

Nightclubs and lounges that run table service. Owners and general managers use it to set the venue up and see how it performs. Managers, hosts, promoters, door staff, bottle servers, barbacks and security use it on the floor during service.

What does it do on a working night?

Before doors, hosts and promoters build the guest list and reservations go onto the floor plan. At the door, staff find a guest on the list and check them in with a swipe. On the floor, every table shows whether it is available, reserved or seated, live on every device.

A guest at a table scans its QR code to send a service request, such as water, ice or bottle service, and the staff who handle that kind of request are notified and resolve it. Each of the eight staff roles sees and does only what its permissions allow. Analytics then show how the night went.

How is it different from reservation tools like SevenRooms or Tablelist Pro?

NightX is built for running the night inside the venue, which is not what a reservation tool is built for. The floor plan is live for your whole staff, a guest at a table can send a service request that reaches the right person, and every staff role has its own permissions. NightX holds your guest list and table reservations too, but its focus is the floor during service.

How is it better than spreadsheets, paper lists and group chats?

A spreadsheet or a paper list is one copy that goes stale the moment someone changes it, and a group chat buries the one message that mattered. In NightX there is one guest list and one floor plan: a check-in, a seated table or a resolved request shows on every staff phone at once. Requests go to the role that handles them instead of to everyone, and the night leaves a record you can read the next morning.

What does it cost?

NightX is in private beta, and it is free during the beta. There are twenty founding places, and a founding venue keeps the founding rate for two years: $299 a month for Core or $499 a month for Pro, billed annually with the first month free, or quarterly. The pricing page has the full detail.

How do I get started?

Apply for the beta or book a demo, which is thirty minutes with a founder. NightX is in private beta and free during the beta, with twenty founding places at the founding rate. Once you are in, we set the account up for your venue with you: your floor plan, your staff and their roles.

Does it connect to my point-of-sale system?

Not yet. NightX runs alongside your till system today. Connections are in development, starting with Union and Square.

What devices does it run on?

The staff app runs on iPhone and Android. The floor plan builder runs in a web browser, so you lay out your room on a bigger screen.

Who owns my guest data, and how is it protected?

Your venue owns its data, and NightX claims no ownership of it. We do not sell personal information. You can export your venue’s operational data while you are a customer. Access is restricted by role, and data is encrypted in transit. The Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy set this out in full.
